The Beaver Creek Ski school, conveniently located at the base of Beaver Creek ski hill, posed unique construction challenges that the 361º team met head on. It has been an iconic landmark for the ski town since the 1970’s. In desperate need of renovation, Vail Resorts turned to Summit County’s premier contractor, 361 Degrees Builders for the remodel last summer, ‘19.
This was one of 361’s larger TI projects for the year, at over 15,000 square feet, the two-story ski and snowboard school underwent an enormous transformation. The result was breathtaking.
The Children’s Ski and Snowboard School at Beaver Creek Resorts was completed in 5 months, just before its opening season for the resort in the fall of 2019. Our team worked closely with Vail resorts, designers and architects. This project presented numerous challenges, a unique build on the slope side of an active resort during the summer, with condominium space above and the entire structure was attached to the Hyatt Hotel. This build required a significant amount of additional special planning and thoughtful cooperation with all stakeholders involved.
The renovation included adding a modern and functional retail space, with ski gear and apparel for clients and guests of the mountain.
Upstairs, the state-of-the-art reception area features a beautifully designed and crafted point of sale desk. With a combination of 361’s value engineering and the careful craftsmanship of their skilled trades, the entrance to the ski school from the base of the mountain is truly elegant.
Customers young and old who loyally frequent the BCSS have commented on how distinct the improvement is for the updated school.
Safety was also improved, as the electrical, mechanical, and fire suppression systems were all updated.
The remodel also features a highly functional and customer friendly boot fitting space, and conveniently located transaction window for quick student ski rental and drop off. Parents dropping off and picking up their kids at the ski school have a comfortable and well-lit waiting area with majestic views of the ski slopes.
The administration, staff, and ski instructors also received a substantial upgrade with new state of the art office spaces with high security integrated systems. New technology including television and data installations enhanced the staff's ability to function on a higher level for students safety and learning.
These advancements in the office environment are propelling the Beaver Creek Children's Ski and Snowboard School to new heights, leading the way in Ski Mountain innovation.
Serving as an anchor of Beaver Creek Village, the Beaver Creek Ski School is a proud highlight of Summit County’s premier contracting company, 361 Degrees Builders project resume.
The Ski School has become the hub for snow-seeking youth and parents from all over the world. It remains an icon within the community, touting a fresh new look and enhanced functionality.
